What Happened To This Man When He Tried To Board A Train Will Remind You Racism Is Alive And Well

After drawing 1-1 with Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night, video has emerged of a group of Chelsea fans preventing a black man from boarding the Paris metro and chanting "we're racist and that's the way we like it."

This incident follows the prosecution of of Chelsea captain John Terry for racially abusing another player in 2012. While he was cleared by British courts, Terry received a £220,000 fine and four-match suspension.

The club, which has made numerous efforts to be more inclusive in recent years, said: “Such behaviour is abhorrent and has no place in football or society. We will support any criminal action against those involved, and should evidence point to involvement of Chelsea season-ticket holders or members the club will take the strongest possible action against them, including banning orders.”

One Chelsea fan who was on the train told the Daily Mail that the group had refused the man access because the train was full and the man was a PSG fan. He also claimed that the chant was in reference to John Terry's suspension and not aimed at the man.

British police are investigating the incident while The Guardian are attempting to identify those involved, and are asking for anyone with information to come forward.
