Two Ohio Schools Put On Immediate Lockdown For The Most RIDICULOUS Reason

Two Ohio schools were put on immediate lockdown today when one student texted an old picture message of a gun to another student. Although the picture has not been released, the sheriff’s office described it as a photo that was taken several years ago off school property.
The relationship between the two students is unclear at this time, as is the reason for why the image was sent in the first place.
The Canton Repository has the story:
Marlington High School and Middle School were put on lockdown Friday afternoon as a precaution, but Stark County Sheriff George Maier said there is no security risk at this time.

Deputies responded to the high school after one student sent a text message of an old photo of a gun to another student at the middle school. No gun was found at the school, though, Maier said.
A 16-year-old was charged with inducing panic — a felony — in connection with the incident. The Repository typically does not name juvenile crime suspects.
The Review Alliance has more:
Investigators have determined that Hicks does not own a gun.
The gun in the image, Maier said, belongs to an acquaintance of Hicks.
The recipient of the text showed a teacher, who, in turn, notified the administration.
The school resource officer received notification of the text at 12:21 p.m., according to the sheriff’s office.

Superintendent Joe Knoll said the district immediately contacted law enforcement and put the high school under lockdown.
Deputies took Hicks into custody during the lockdown, which ended at 1:43 p.m.
Although new details might continue to surface as the investigation proceeds, it appears at this time to be a severe over-reaction.
